What are we?

Ergasta ApS is a Danish labtech company founded in 2020 by researchers from Aarhus University who have experienced firsthand the challenges of lab work. We understand the strain that comes with cell culture liquid handling, and we’ve seen too many colleagues suffer from repetitive strain injuries. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to develop tools that alleviate this strain and make lab work safer and more efficient.

While our research expertise lies in stem cell differentiation, perfusion bioreactors, and 3D printed biomaterials, we believe that we can make a greater impact by focusing on the tools of the research process. Our aim is to empower researchers with innovative tools that enhance the quality and pace of scientific discovery.

Our ambition with starting up Ergasta and launching the Ergaspira200, is to make an important aspect of lab work safer, faster, and more accurate and we have poured all relevant experience and experiences into development this novel lab tool.

When you use our pipetting aspirator, you hopefully cannot tell if it has been created by a engineers turned cell biologists or a cell biologists turned engineers. However, we assure you that our team has trialed plenty in both fields and more.

Among our achievements, we can personally count:

  • Doing all-nighters in the cell lab to keep the “change media every 3 days” protocol
  • Aspirated less than “…as much as possible
  • Aspirated more than “…possible
  • Aspirated the one pellet that held together the whole experiment

At Ergasta, we are human and we are humble. But we still think we make the most innovative vacuum aspirator in the world.

Who are we?

Dang Quang Svend Le, PhD, Inventor, Co-founder

Dr. Svend has a multidisciplinary background in laser physics, stem cell science and 3D printing for regenerative medicine. Dr. Svend has always preferred the hands-on approach to research, which has led to 8 patents and two license agreements in the biotech field. In 2014, he was awarded the Danish Strategic Research Council Award – for research with a particularly great innovation potential

Muwan Chen, PhD, Inventor, Co-founder

Graduating from China Pharmaceutical University in Nanjing, Dr. Chen’s decade-long research activities in regenerative medicine has covered 3D cell culture, drug delivery, hydrogel biomaterials, and Parkinson’s Disease modeling. In addition to activities in Ergasta, Dr. Chen is assistant professor at Department of Biomedicine, Aarhus University.
